RE-4 discharge from National Guard, barred from police work?

I was given an uncharacterized discharge from the National Guard with an RE-4 for being outed as being gay. I hadn’t even shipped to basic training.

I’ve been interested in joining the police force, but with an ELS and RE-4 would I be forever auto DQ’ed? Or would any hiring board ever give me a chance to explain my discharge?

will unemployment pay for me to go into the police academy?

i usually work construction and iam now laid off i was wondering if unemployment would pay for me to go into the police academy they pay for other schooling. would this be considered.

If you go through a police academy, are you required to join a police force?

Just wondering, when you go through a police academy (and pass,) are you required to join a specific police force or can you just get something saying you passed POST and apply for police or other work later?
