Also since one can't be a law enforcement officer in the US until 21 years of age, due to the need of carrying arms, many recruits these days are college educated even though the requirement may not call for it. Or you can shell out the money and just go, then try to find a job. I don't think it matters if you have gone to college or not. However, it does help a lot.
