OK I am confuse do I need some college to enter the police academy or not?
I wanted to be a teacher and I got my associates on education but now I want to become police officer but do I need to go to college first and then enter the police academy or I just go to the police acadamy?

it would look better and it depends on the area in which you are applying–as some areas have degree requirements–but most do not, other than HS diploma.
Call your PD and see what their requirements are.
If you get hired onto a department, they will send you and you won’t have to pay. Or you can shell out the money and just go, then try to find a job. I don’t think it matters if you have gone to college or not. However, it does help a lot.
Sweet sweet Jane is right. This varies by department. In many parts of the country you don’t need college; in others you might. Also, don’t assume that they will pay for your education if you don’t already have it. That also varied by the policies of the individual PD.
Very simple. Go to police academy and ask about requirements.
Most do not, but in almost every case if you want to climb the ranks you’ll need a 4 year degree at least.. Also since one can’t be a law enforcement officer in the US until 21 years of age, due to the need of carrying arms, many recruits these days are college educated even though the requirement may not call for it.
