edit: I’ve visited Canada a couple times, and absolutely loved it there. My Current degree is in International Relations, and i’ve always loved law enforcement ever since I was younger. Was just asking because I would love to live in Canada and work there.

How come the US border Patrol is more militant than the regular Police force?

Instead of the military, I was thinking of joining the US border patrol instead. How hard is the training compared to military training?

another question: shouldn’t all police be practicing in a military type training like the border patrol?

Did you pass or fail getting into the police academy?

I’d like to know more about the tests, including the physical tests that are required to get into a police academy in California. How long does it take to go through the written tests, waiting for it to be graded, and then how long before the oral test, and then the physical tests. And then how long is it before starting the academy?

Have you or anyone you know failed the process? If so, why did you fail?

It seems to be difficult to get straight answers about the whole screening and testing process, so I’d be grateful for any help you can give me.
