Thursday, June 11th, 2009Part of his beat was through an Amish community and one of the things he said he found unusual about them was that none of their windows had curtains on them-not even the bedrooms-and sure enough the camers shots showed this to be true;so,do their houses have windowless rooms where they undress and bathe,or is it that domestic nudity is no big deal to them and that they’re not particularly bothered if their neighbours see them?
Also,since they’re human like everyone else,there must be some girls who fall pregnant without being married. What’s their reaction when this occurs,both from the girl’s own family and also from the community as a whole? Are they more condemnatory than ‘modern’ society’ or do they just accept it as something that ‘just happens’?
