  1. Change I Can't Live With says:

No most states require you to be a minimum of 21 in order to join a civilian police department

You can go into the Armed services as young as 17 with parental consent however you need to have a High School Diploma or a GED

With the GED though different branches have different amounts of GED applicants they will accept a year so you need to talk to a recruiter about that one

You could move to Africa and become a child soldier.

I’m pretty sure you have to be 18 in most all countries. There is no sane and honorable man on this earth that would be policed by a teenager.

No, not until you are 18 then you can join the military. You can do something like ROTC however. It will teach you everything you need about the military and it gives you college cred if you decide to go someday.

    good luck

There are no military jobs you can do at 16. But you could join an Explorer Scout group that is military or police oriented and begin to receive some training in those fields. This is a good way to learn something about the military or police and it can help you decide what you want to do with your life! Good luck and don’t be in too big of a hurry to grow up!

You can join the Army as an MP at the age of 17 with a parental waiver.

As far as the Police, most agencies will not accept you until you are 20 1/2 years of age. This is due to gun-laws in states that don’t allow you to carry a weapon until the age of 21. Some agencies do accept people at the age of 18, but they have to have someone buy and store their weapon for them, no joke.

First off, I really hope you’re not considering leaving school for either choice. These days, you absolutely NEED a high school education. The Army, if anything like the Navy, won’t even look at you with out a diploma or GED. Being that you’re at high school age right now any way, you might as well go for the diploma. And to become an officer, I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure, you need at least a high school education for that also.

If you want the military experience at your age join the ROTC at your school. If your school doesn’t have one do some searching, there will be one near by. Get your experience with that, then in 2 years you can join Army. Make sure that when you talk to the recruiter you guarantee becoming an MP (military police). Do a short enlistment with them, then get out and you will be a shoe-in for the police department. As for right now, I’m sorry but it just isn’t possible to join.

Another option: go to your local PD and ask them if there are any side jobs that they might offer.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do!
